We are delighted to announce Smeg UK has won a top award for its newest Regent Street St James’s store window, entered into RIBA’s Regent Street Windows competition 2018. The awards ceremony was hosted at the London headquarters of the Royal Institute of British Architects at the end of May.

Smeg partnered with award-winning London architects, Coffey, to design an inspiring Linea oven and hob window display, taking a single key component, the humble cast iron pan stand, to create a beautifulrepeating pattern to bring the product to life – through light, reflection, layers and transparency.

The Smeg scheme, which was voted for by consumers and singled out by a RIBA panel of heavyweight design  experts, was recognised for the ‘Best Collaboration’ award thanks to its architecturally-led window, drawing inspiration from the company’s rich history and heritage in producing cooking appliances. Judges included representatives from Westminster City Council, Wallpaper Magazine, The Archivist and even RIBA’s past president. As a design-led brand, Smeg’s interest in working with and supporting architects, specifiers and developers has been re-affirmed yet again and we look forward to continuing to welcome guests to our flagship on Regent Street St James’s.

This is the eighth year of the exclusive design competition run by RIBA, the official professional body for architects in the UK.
